HOTLINE DRY CLEANING EQUIPMENT

High Line Division in order to provide a solution to the need for insulation cleaning in those cases in which the installation cannot be isolated, or the use of demineralized water is not viable for various reasons caused by the nature of the equipment, availability of demineralized water or washing equipment, or for the ease and speed of deployment that this system offers.

The use of cleaning systems by abrasion is a method widely used in different applications in the industry, but in the case of the use of some abrasives, these represent a serious risk to health, which implies the use of specific personal safety equipment, or the damage that may be caused by some abrasives on the surface of the insulation, make the abrasive to be used the object of study and analysis.

Further there is the environmental issue, which is in line with our environmental policies that establish the minimization of the impact of our operations to which are added other factors such as:

   Insulation: The use of very hard abrasives would damage the varnished surface of the insulator and this would affect its integrity as well as its dielectric and hydrophobic properties, affecting its performance in aggressive work situations.
   Equipment: In some situations, the equipment is what determines the determining factors, the surge protection (some old-manufactured surge arresters) do not allow washing while in service, extreme contamination or the state of the same may discourage washing under tension with water demineralized, leaving dry cleaning by abrasion as the only effective solution to clean the insulation.
   Installation: There are cases in which the space or the availability of the elements do not allow the deployment of heavy washing equipment in which only a cleaning stick enters due to abrasion or the use of water is not recommended due to its secondary effects.
   Environmental: The environmental impact of the use of abrasion elements is not of minor importance, many of which are not biodegradable or the impact of their use cannot be minimized or controlled.
   Health & Safety: Many abrasives cause silicosis or other respiratory diseases, having to use specific individual protection equipment and special care and maintenance.

Taking into consideration of all the aforementioned conditions has led High Line Division to establish the following preferred abrasives de todas las condicionantes anteriormente citadas ha llevado a High Line Division a establecer los siguientes abrasivos preferentemente:

   Wallnut Shell
   Smash Corn
   Mixtures of nut shells with ground corn (in the case of specific gravity or hardness needs, we proceed to the formulation of mixtures between the abrasives
   Plasti-Grit® (Urea Formaldehyde)
